History of the ue-alass

The University of Embu (UoEm) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi (UoN) via a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011 and graduated its first students under UoN on September 2016. Afterwards, the constituent college was chartered to a fully-fledged University on 7th October, 2016 and in September 2017 and 2018 graduated the second and third class, respectively. This therefore necessitated the need to establish an Alumni Association of UoEm. With the help of the University management, an interim committee was constituted in the first Alumni AGM on 13th September 2018. The University of Embu Alumni Association was later launched and the interim
committee mandated to institute the foundation under which the Alumni would be pinned. To achieve this, the committee was to;

1.   Develop the Alumni Constitution.

2.   Update the Alumni database.

3.   Create an Alumni website.

4.   Oversee the first Alumni election.

The Alumni Association brings together friends, staff and graduates of the University. The Association creates a network that fosters a spirit of belonging among its members in promoting the mission and vision statements of the Alma mater. On 19th September 2019, the interim committee convened the second AGM of the Association. In this meeting, the draft Alumni constitution was presented to members and unanimously adopted as the supreme law of the Association. This occasioned the election of a substantive Alumni Executive Committee, the Alumni Board and culminated the tenure of the interim committee. In addition, the Association has developed an Alumni website and is committed to actively update the Alumni database. Further, the Association is devoted to achieve its mission and vision statements.
